dial is an experimental graphical notation and live music tool that I have continuously updated over several versions. While it shares the same concept as my previous work, 'Overbug', which is a circular sequencer, I delved deeper into exploring its possibilities. One notable enhancement is that dial allows for varying loop durations based on the size of each circle, enabling the synthesis of polyrhythms. In addition to the core functionality, I implemented a visual command-line interface (CUI) for controlling the sequence. This interface not only facilitates sequence manipulation but also provides text information to the audience during performances, enhancing their understanding and engagement with the music.
