Overbug is a music performance tool that can be used to compose minimal, dance and pop music. Through the repetition and rearrangement of sound images, called 'bugsounds', complex, polyrhythmic sounds are created. Overbug differs from conventional linear sequencer models that arrange sounds on straight timelines from left to right. In Overbug, the sound organisation follows the idea that the auditory repetition principle of music loops corresponds to the visual abstraction of circular movements. Overbug was nominated, invited to transmediale 2009.
