'dial_static' is a spinoff project derived from the 'dial' music composition app. The original 'dial' app had a unique feature where it emitted millions of particles and triggered sounds based on the timing of particle collisions calculated by the Bullet Physics engine. Fascinated by the beauty of these collisions, I conducted numerous tests using different initial conditions to capture those remarkable moments. During the compilation and execution of the app, the program code was extracted, and each character of the code was positioned according to the corresponding particle's location. The resulting digital image was then printed on an A1-sized format. When you approach the print, it resembles Japanese calligraphy from a distance, but upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the text is challenging to read. Eventually, through careful investigation, one realizes that the artwork itself consists of the actual code. 'dial_static' was honored with the Asia Digital Art Award in 2010.
